Walk-ins welcome

Puppy grooming in Richmond, Kentucky

Puppy's first groom

A short, gentle first visit built around confidence instead of a finished haircut. The Puppy Experience is for pups up to five months old, and the sooner they start, the easier every groom after this one becomes.

How we pace it

Short, calm, and entirely on your puppy's terms

A puppy's first appointment is a lesson, not a production. We introduce the bath, the dryer, and the sound of clippers slowly, keep handling brief, and stop to let a worried pup settle before carrying on. If your puppy has had enough, we finish the essentials and send them home on a good note rather than pushing for a picture-perfect trim they aren't ready for.

Expect a gentle bath and blowout, a face, feet, and sanitary tidy, nail trimming with plenty of paw handling, and ear cleaning. That handling practice is the real point: puppies who learn it early grow into dogs who stand happily on the table for years.

Puppy questions

Before your first visit

When should a puppy start grooming?
As soon as possible. The earlier a puppy learns that the tub, the dryer, and the table are ordinary parts of life, the calmer every future groom will be. Puppy Experience sessions are available up to five months old.
What do I need to bring?
Proof of a current rabies vaccination is required for every dog. Bordetella is strongly encouraged for puppies who visit parks, daycare, or boarding.
How long will it take?
Grooming appointments run one to five hours depending on size, temperament, and coat condition. Puppy sessions sit at the short end on purpose, and we never rush a nervous pup through it.
How do I pay?
Cash, check, most major credit and debit cards, and Apple Pay. Paying by cash or check avoids card processing fees.
